Blue's name was almost funny to Toboe. Blue? As if her wolf wasn't colored the same, or if her eyes were the exact image of that color. While she crouched next to him, Toboe tried to be content with something other than her. Tsume's words were harsh to a point. He had a right to be mad, Toboe knew. Blue tended to his wounds as if she knew what she was doing, and in-fact, she was good at this. She talked about a human man, as if she really cared for him. Sudden memories flooded back to him, about her. About the old lady that had meant so much to him. While Blue cleansed him, he closed his eyes, and blocked out everyone around him.
"Come here, boy!" The old lady called to Toboe while he was out in the field chasing a few birds. Her house was positioned perfectly placed outside of the city, so that no one would bother a wolf and a human. Yeah, the lady knew Toboe wasn't a dog, but that stop her from treating him any different. Toboe never acted scared, or worried around her, as if he ever really did. But he looked up from his spot in the grass and noticed her frail form walking back into the house. Toboe trotted back into the house and stood at the door, watching her. She slide across the floor, putting things into plates and into pots. It was diligent and time consuming, but Toboe found himself against the warm fire. Toboe didn't ever become a human to her. It might be a realization that she wouldn't be able to handle.
But the lady never wondered how all this might happen. Such as; the wood always being there, and sometimes the clothes inside her house. There might be growing ideas of Toboe, but for now, he was just a wolf to her. When she completed making her food, she laid down a plate for Toboe, and while he quietly ate, she hummed to herself and told stories about her day. With a sudden smack of her hands, she dropped her fork and told Toboe to wait while she went and got something for him. Toboe cocked his head to the side, waiting for her return, as always. When she came back, she held a bag behind her back. Squatting, she opened the bag and pulled out three silver rings. Holding them out, she looked as if she was asking permission to put on the rings. Toboe arched his paw forward, and the lady slipped on the rings. When they jumped against his leg, she smiled and roughed his head fur.
Toboe grinned his own little smile, while she returned to her meal. Toboe ate quietly, and than slipped into a dizzy state of dreams.
Pain in Toboe's arm suddenly lurked him out of his memories. With a snarl and barring of teeth, Toboe looked into Blue's eyes, and barely caught her words. Toboe bit back any other anger and surprise. "I'm sorry...you only scared me." Biting his lip with consideration, Toboe looked back as Tsume and waited for the pain to be over. Blue stood up and told him it maybe stiff, and it was. Swinging his arm a bit, he stood and stepped closer to Blue. Like a silent stare off, Tsume glared at Blue and declared his own anger and frustrations. While she took some, Blue shot back the fact that the two other wolves had saved Tsume.
"Tsume, we did help...But maybe you could have been ok...?" Toboe shrugged and looked back towards the blood and gore around them. So many men, and so many weapons. Even a wolf of master-proportions would not have been able to live through something like this. But maybe Tsume was the wolves of all wolves. Toboe didn't want to judge to quickly.

The white haired man overheard the female speaking fondly of a human. His lips peeled back in disgust. A human companion? Sure, Tsume tolerated humans – if you could even call it that, but he didn’t look out for them. Not anymore. That was a mistake he had made and vowed to never do again. What a repulsive idea, but even with this thought he didn’t turn to say anything to the couple- that is, until the she-wolf opened her mouth again.
Tsume paused in mid-step and although he didn’t turn around, it was evident he was fighting a battle within himself about what he should do. After a brief moment of silence to collect himself he began walking again, away from the runt and the woman. ”Think that all you want, if I didn’t save the runt he’d be dead.” Came a curt reply.
The boy’s words then came. So he knew his name. But by this time, the grey wolf was rounding the corner of the alley and as he did so he wondered if the runt knowing his name would come to bit him in the ass later. Tsume sighed. He had hoped not. That’s all he needed in this city; a runt following him around and causing more trouble.

Toboe catsed a curious look at the taller man began to walk away from them. A scowl crossed his face when he heard Tsume call him a runt. "I'm not a runt..." He mumbled to himself before watching as the grey wolf rounded the corner and disappeared from sight.
Turning his amber gaze back to the she-wolf, Toboe gave a nervous laugh and a friendly smile. "I-I'm sorry for all this...it was nice to meet you!" The pup shouted over his shoulder at blue when he turned tail and chased after Tsume. "Tsume! Wait up!" He called out to the other. He didn't know why he was chasing after the brooding wolf, but he didn't really know anyone else in the town, and it was better if wolves stayed together.

Now walking through the maze of the twisting alleys of Freeze city, Tsume allowed himself to continue on automatic and press replay on the previous events. There were two wolves in the city. Where did they come from and how long were they here? By the sounds of it, Blue- a ridiculous name he added, lived here for a while with that human, but the pup he wasn’t sure. Not that he cared about either of them he was simply worried they’d get in the way. Like today. His attention was brought back to the minor laceration on his side. Tsume looked down to see that the wound was still weeping much to his annoyance. He needed to clean it but he wouldn’t do that now, this would be done once he reached his hideout; an abandoned building located on the outskirts of the city.
His ears swiveled, as they tended to upon hearing a sound that concerned them. His name. The grey wolf partially turned to see the runt had gotten up and chased after him. A ‘tsk’ clicked from his tongue in disapproval as he saw the darting figure of the young boy and turned to walk in the direction he had been going, not stopping for the boy. ”What is it, kid? Don’t bother me.” He replied in the same low, curt tone, not bothering to look at the other.

Toboe managed to keep up with Tsume as he weaved and twined his way through the different alleys spread throughout the city. although the fight left his energy drained, somehow the pup still found enough to chase after the older wolf.
He finally caught up to him and slowed his pace a bit, just enough to keep up with Tsume. Well...I-I was thinking that....since we're both wolves that....w-we could, you know....stay together..." Toboe said, his voice soft and low, slightly mumbling. His amber eyes were casted to the ground and a solemn look crossed his face. the truth was...Toboe hated being alone. Ever since Granny....he'd been alone.
And with the prospect of other wolves, the pup was determined to have the companionship he desperately craved.

He didn’t need this. He just wanted to go to some place quiet and rest. The previous events of today were making him irritable. What the boy said has shocked him mildly, but this wasn’t evident in his visage or mannerisms, Tsume simply continued to go in the direction of his hideout. He wasted not a beat in responding, however, ”Listen, kid. Just because I saved your ass doesn’t mean that was an invitation to follow me around.” His tone had softened slightly but seemed weary. For a brief moment, Tsume had looked tired; perhaps the events of today and the previous were finally catching up with him, but this look had gone away just as quickly as it had come, however as his golden optics came to rest on the gate to the city, it could be seen between the narrow space the alley had left open. Just beyond that was his hideout and there he could rest.

Toboe snapped his head up at the words Tsume said in response to his request. A look of indifference crossed his young face as he pursed his lips and stared at the older wolf. "Well, yeah! Well...I didn't need saving...I was handling things all by myself!" The pup retorted, crossing his slender arms over his chest as he continued to follow Tsume.
Slowly, his arms dropped to his sides when his mind registered that he was following Tsume to the outskirts of the City. This made toboe a little nervous. He'd never really ventured too far out of the city, feeling safer being around all those people. but, he was stubborn and determined to follow the older wolf, even if he wasn't wanted.

Tsume had almost forgotten about the runt as he ran through his thoughts; sorting and filing them. The older male glanced down at Toboe after hearing his tone. He almost laughed. Pups were ridiculous; thinking they were an unstoppable and unbreakable force. For a brief moment, the older male had flashes of his childhood, faint flickers of a small wavering flame. He could hardly remember his younger days, it was like looking through fogged glass; the images were out of focus. He frowned and tossed such thoughts aside.
The two were now outside the city, the expansive field of ruins alone attested to the new atmosphere. There were several pockets of people, all who looked as if they belonged in a gang- many did, and others were mere wannabes. As the white-haired male walked through the debris of old, dilapidated buildings, faces turned to watch him and the small boy, whispers passed, some even pointed. Tsume was unfazed; perhaps he was just tired or simply didn’t care.
Now coming to a small building, Tsume pushed the door open with a single hand before walking in. There wasn’t anything distinguishable about this particular establishment; it was simply a place he would use for rest. He looked over his shoulder, perhaps the runt gained his wits and left. Unsurprisingly, gold eyes held a small form whole. He sighed. ”Why are you still following me? This isn’t any place for a kid.”

Toboe looked, or more like glared, at Tsume's back when he heard the older wolf call him a 'kid'...again. "I am NOT a kid!" He said, crossing his arms over his chest and looking away with a sour look on his face. Why did everyone still call him a 'kid'? He wasn't a kid!.....Kind of.
Slowly, the young wolf dropped his arms to his sides when he followed Tsume out of the City and into a vast area of ruins. His amber eyes shifted nervously to his new surroudnings, taking in the different groups of people hanging around. They didn't look very nice. Unconsciously, Toboe shifted a little closer to Tsume, somehow feeling better having the older wolf closer to him. He closed his eyes and tried to ignore the whispers and the pointing fingers, trying not to show that he was frightnened.
Opening his amber eyes slowly, Toboe took in the building the older wolf had gone into. It looked liked all the others. Scrmabling his feet, the younger wolf dutifully followed Tsume inside. He took in the buolding's interior, and noted that it looked similar to the ruins outside....in a way.
"Oh. Ummm.... Toboe began, shifting from foot to foot, amber eyes gazing at the older wolf. "I don't have anywhere else, and no one else, so...I thought I'd hang with you...for a while..." He said, his voice low and soft...almost like a child's.

Tsume watched the young one as he talked. He wouldn’t leave him alone, no matter how rude or insulting he was. He then realized a short moment after the boy stopped talking that he was still gazing at him; a look that had gone on for far too long. It wasn’t his fault he justified; he was simply caught up in his thoughts. Tsume then proceeded to nonchalantly turn on his heels and walk slowly towards a large square in the wall that had acted as a window of sorts. With the walls being so thick, the grey wolf could easily climb up and sit on the surface of with window sill. With his back pressed against the one side of the square cut out, this allowed him to prop his feet up and stretch them.
“Just don’t bother me, I’m trying to get some sleep.” He stated firmly, leaving no room to argue or say otherwise. He decided to let the runt stay, provided he didn’t stir up any trouble. The tan skinned man’s hands came up to cup the back of his head, fingers laced together. His eyes closed.
